Ruby on Rails.

In the last year Ruby's framework Rails turned quite a few heads by showing off with its elegance along with Rail's emphasis on Agile practices which results in several-times higher productivity compared to Java and .NET web-development platforms. Although Ruby on Rails is relatively new on the scene, Govannon has been working with the framework since 2005. Our experience with custom software development gives us an accurate picture of when and where Ruby is a good fit and when it is not.

Based upon our experiences Rails excels in the following area´s:
  • Web 2.0 applications that make use of REST and/or AJAX designs
  • Web-based applications with aggressive time-to-market goals
  • Software as a Service (SaaS) targeted projects
  • Low-cost internal prototypes and pilot applications
  • Highly-targeted intranet applications
  • Build systems for complex enterprise systems.
  • Integrating and creating
